I love bold, dark perfumes. It’s hard to believe that the scent of a flower can lead to this idea of beauty. Rose Opéra does. Jordi Fernández, one of the magicians of oud, didn’t get out of his comfort zone: no oud, but he used old flowers, with gentle incense and patchouli, dried fruits and spices (pepper and cardamom) to build a complex perfume with a very strong personality. We need to discover these grey areas of flower based perfumes.
